Welcome to my Happy Ending
I {Josh Denvers} have always
wanted to be in a fairytale and
{The Little Mermaid} is the one I choose
Josh never really had a 'picture perfect life'. But, his life wasn't 'tragic' either. Just boring. He grew up the only child of his family, He had two super strict parents, who made sure that from a very young age he took the "right path", a trait which he still holds true to.
Age 8, first grade. He met Kris- a beautiful blonde who stole his heart immediately. Oh, and did he mentioned she was being bullied at the time? Well, one punch later, he was sent home for having stuck up for his grade-school crush.
Next day, he got up the guts to talk to Kris again. And she was just as beautiful inside as she was out, to him anyway. The two became friends from that day on, she helping him take risks and be adventurous, and he making sure that Kris was safe.
His crush on her never died, even now at age 17 and a senior in high school. And the fact that Kris obviously interested in someone else doesn't stop him. Josh can only hope she'll see him as "Mr. Right".
As for the rest of his personality, besides being overly cautious and analytical, Josh also tends to be very introverted. He rarely acts on impusles, except when he's around Kris. Also, since Kris's parents and foster parents are far from the best role models, Josh takes it upon himself to look out for her. This leads to a lot of beating up himself on his part, seeing that Kris is much more adventurous than him.

Josh sighed deeply again as he finally reached for the cell phone. He pressed the first speed dial to try to reach Kris on hers. It seemed like forever since he had last talked to her, and wanted to see her again. He missed just talking to her and seeming like the world flew by…
But, her sweet voice was followed by a mechanical beep. Obviously, she wasn’t picking up.
“Hey Kris, it’s Josh. Shoot me back a call when you get the chance,” he said into the phone, “You know my number.” Josh then closed the cell and looked to the clock. Only 10, there was still hope that she was just not picking up for… whatever reason. And that she was not with that druggie he’d warned her was trouble.
An hour and a half later, he tried again. And still no answer. Now Josh was starting to get a little worried. He called her parents, who informed him she was ‘out’ before hanging up the phone on him. He groaned a little and banged his head against the wall. Where the hell could she be?
Sadly, he knew the answer to that all too well. She was with... him again. And probably to drunk or high or whatever to get herself home safely. And like hell was Josh letting her get hurt on his account. Obviously, staying at the jerk’s house for the night would be out of the question.
Not that her parents cared. He did.
Josh grabbed the keys to his dad’s car and headed out the door.
