Most people say four years can change everything. Four years can change your friends, your job, possibly even the way you view the world. For five people it changed more than everything, just out of high school and completely influenced by what went on around them. Most people looking on would call them naive, but for people that actually knew their story, they were anything but. Some had faced parents not wanting to live up to the commitment, some faced more tragedy than anyone could wish on a person, some faced parents leaving suddenly, losing people important in their lives, some are wiser beyond their year would know, being a teenage mother, being married and facing the trouble of finances and working on fragile relationships. Everyone is fragile leaving high school, still waiting for their lives to take shape, but for these five people a lot of that had already happened. Now they’re all back, the same place all of them grew up, together, and nothing is the same. They will let down each other, they will surprise each other, and they will find out new things of the people they thought they knew so well. They are back, trying to write their own story with the new information, people, jobs, and obstacles their lives entail. They are all at a different point just trying to figure out who they are. The basketball star who may have just messed up his dreams forever, but he was given another chance with basketball and his teenage marriage. Will he mess it all up again, will he throw it all away for nothing? The teenage mother and wife in high school who used to be the innocent bookworm and tutor, now a mother and wife, but the same bookworm just as being the high school teacher she always dreamed of being. Her marriage has been more than on the rocks, will it continue to thrive or fall apart before her eyes? The boy the bookworm grew up with, the novelist now at a writer’s block who faced more than a let down from his heart’s desire. He will now start a new with someone new; will he let her down by being confronted by his old love? His old love, the girl who left him for an internship after college, now lost in who she had become, who she wants to be, and who she will become. How will she deal with learning he had moved on, and who will she turn to in her most desperate time of need? Her best friend, the budding fashion designer who grew up the party girl, without a care in the world who just wanted her mother to notice her. She’s now in the spotlight and has everything she ever wanted, including the presence of a mother, who may be there for all the wrong reasons.
